Looking down the stream - the house in the background is Blacksmiths Cottage. All the front garden would have been the yard in front of the forge. When we arrived the front garden was crazy paved stone. Under that gravel is the remains of the concrete it was laid on, under the concrete was clay and stone, cinders, horseshoes and general unpleasantness'!
Near the forefront of the picture is Tradascantia 'Purple Dome.
